Our goal is to have a clean fun iRacing series. The season will consist of three oval races and three road races, all on free iRacing tracks and using the free Dallara Indycar with fixed setups.

Qualifying/race formats
Races will consist of two back to back sprint races except for the last round of the season. The second races will feature a reversed grid.

Ovals will use two lap solo qualifying and road courses will use an open 10 minute qualifying. Races are limited by the number of laps (aiming for ~30 mins per race, but 90 mins for the last round).

Cautions
Races will have full-course cautions with single file restarts, lapped cars at back and with lucky dog turned on. Weather is random and the time of day for each race will change between races. All races begin with a rolling start. Road courses will have manually triggered cautions via live race control during the race (we will try to avoid having too many cautions during races).

Pit stops
Fuel levels will be set to 60% to force a mid-race pit stop.

Fast repairs
One fast repair will be available per race.

Teams championship
A new teams championship will be running for this season. You do not need to be part of a team. Teams can have a maximum of three drivers. Like in the real Indycar Series, cars within a team do not need to have the same colour/paint scheme. If you would like to form a team, please contact Ryan Hellyer via iRacing or Discord.

Road and oval championships
As well as the main drivers championship and the new teams championship, we are also introducing championships for the best drivers on road and oval tracks.

Points system

At the conclusion of each race, the top finishers will score points towards the drivers championship, according to the following scale:

1st: 12 points
2nd: 10 points
3rd: 8 points
4th: 7 points
5th: 6 points
6th: 5 points
7th: 4 points
8th: 3 points
9th: 2 points
10th: 1 points

Bonus points will be awarded for pole position, fastest lap in each event and least incidents in each event (must have completed all races and not be more than one lap down on the leader).

Dallara IR-05

The Dallara IR-05 Indycar is a free car, which all members of iRacing.com own. It became the de facto “spec car” in the Indycar series from 2007. The chassis was last used in the Indycar series in 2011 before being replaced with the DW12 which is still in use today. These cars are fast and fun.

A fixed setup will be used.
